I Just Want to Praise Him

Sale Starts 12/16

“You are my God, and I will praise You; You are my God, I will exalt You. Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” ~~ Psalm 118:28-29

When I wake up in the morning, I just want to praise Him! I praise Him when I’m washing dishes. I praise Him while I’m working out. I praise Him while I’m driving to work. I praise Him while I’m at work. I praise Him on the way home from work. I praise Him before I drift off to sleep. Then, if the good Lord sees fit to wake me up yet again, I repeat the process.

Please be advised I’m no clergy, scholar, linguist or theologian. Know that if my explanations or examples seem simple or elementary, I’m a human just like you, trying to work out my own salvation with fear and trembling.

With that being said, my goal for this post is to encourage you to praise the Most High God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as much as possible. Shall we continue? Awesome!

What Does Praising Him Mean?

In my opinion praising God means realizing what we are ultimately here for: to please Him. Praising God means we recognize Him for His enduring mercy & grace. Praise means giving God the acknowledgment He deserves. Praising Him means lifting and exalting His holy name.

Now that I understand that the earth and everything in it belongs to God I praise Him for allowing me the privilege of breathing His air and inhabiting His earth. Praising Him means you adore, exalt and glorify Him.

How to Praise Him

“Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp! Praise Him with tambourine and dance; praise Him with strings and pipe! Praise Him with sounding cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!” ~~ Psalm 150:1-6

Lady Holding Psalms

  1. Singing – “Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to God: for it is; pleasant, and praise is beautiful!” ~~ Psalm 147:1
  2. Words – “Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name.” ~~ Hebrews 13:15
  3. Reading – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” ~~ Psalm 46:1 Reading God’s word will remind us of how good He is and that He is worthy to be praised! This way we will be able to pray when we are happy, upset or fearful. Reading God’s word reminds us to praise Him in any and every circumstance.

Why I Praise Him

I praise Him because He chose to keep me alive as opposed to dying in my sins. There are several instances in my life that I can remember where I should have been dead but the Most High saw fit for me to live. For that I praise Him.

I praise Him for His Son that died for my sins which I could never pay for myself. I praise Him because He wants the fellowship, and I need the fellowship. I need to be in the presence of God at all times.

He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” ~~ Luke 19:40

Praise it Forward

I have to praise Him because He is triumphant! He is the King who came in the name of the Lord. He is my light and my salvation, so no need for the rocks to cry out, they can keep on chillin, I got this.
